Fructose Intolerance

Fructose Intolerance (also known as fructose malabsorption) is a condition resulting in the inability to digest fructose(fruit sugars). The indigested fructose passes through the intestines and begins to ferment (due to bacteria) in the bowel.

The signs and symptoms of fructose intolerance closely resemble those of other digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, it is therefore recommended to speak to your Healthcare practitioner to obtain a definitive diagnosis.
