Vegetable Broth Recipe

A nourishing way to alkalise your body towards better health. Providing warmth and sustenance through wintertime is ideal with a warm bowl of broth.  Highly nutritious and gut healing, it is a great way to minimise cravings by ensuring mineral balance and nutrition. Enjoy as a snack or add a serve of vegetable protein and rice for a full meal.


  • 12 cups water
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 red onion (skin left on)
  • 1 knob fresh turmeric
  • 1 knob fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 chilli
  • 8 leaves fresh kale/ spinach
  • 1/2 cup Shitake mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup wakame seaweed
  • 2 pinches Himalayan salt
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 bunch each of parsley
  • 1 bunch coriander


  • Add all ingredients to a large pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer, with the lid on for about an hour
  • Once everything has been cooked down, strain the liquid into a large bowl
  • Serve with some fresh herbs. It freezes well, so you can use it when needed
